Elkar-Ekin
Wellbeing, prevention and shared responsibility

Elkar-Ekin is a preventive and community program that promotes positive coexistence and teaches students to deal with conflicts constructively.

At Lizarra Ikastola, positive coexistence and student wellbeing are core elements of our educational project. With this aim, we have developed Elkar-Ekin, a programme focused on preventing bullying and fostering healthy relationships.

Elkar-Ekin follows a preventive, whole-school approach. Rather than responding only when problems arise, it seeks to build a shared culture based on respect, safety and care, involving the entire school community.

The programme is based on a key principle: every student plays an active role. It does not focus solely on those directly involved in conflict situations, but also addresses group dynamics, the role of bystanders and shared responsibility. Values such as empathy, respect, social courage and care for others are explicitly developed in classroom work.

Elkar-Ekin integrates:

  • Preventive actions adapted to each educational stage.
  • Early detection and coordinated intervention procedures.
  • Close collaboration between teachers, families and the school guidance team.

Through this approach, students learn to manage conflicts constructively, to take an active stance in the face of harmful behaviour and to contribute to a safe, respectful and supportive school environment.
